 EFCC Arrests Eight Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Uyo Operatives of the Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday May 2, 2024 arrested eight suspected  internet fraudsters in an early morning sting operation at Osong Ama Extension in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. They were arrested following credible intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet fraud.   Items recovered from them include, seven laptops; 13 smart phones; two wrist watches and one router.   The suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

             According to a military source,Niger's army killed at least 30 suspected Boko Haram fighters as it searched for militants in villages just over the border with Nigeria.The army launched the operation yesterday thursday,a day after gunmen thought to be from Boko Haram crossed over from Nigeria and killed at least a dozen villagers on the Niger side of the border.''Our defense forces who are engaged in the operation inside Nigeria between the towns of Malam Fatori and Damasak,killed the insurgents on thursday''.Today friday,two suicide bombers an elderly woman and a 10 year old girl,killed at least nine people in the northeastern Nigerian city of Damaturu as worshippers gathered to mark the Muslim Eid al-Fitr holiday.
