COURT RESTRAINS RESIDENT DOCTORS FROM EMBARKING ON STRIKE The national industrial court Abuja division has restrained all members and agents of the national association of resident doctors from calling, directing, organizing, participating in, and embarking upon any form of industrial action. Justice Emmanuel Danjuma Subilim gave the order in an interim injunction filed by the federal government through the office of the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice. The court temporally barred members of the association from embarking on any form of strike, work stoppages, go-slows, picketing, or any other form of industrial protest or disruption. The association is equally restrained from taking steps preparatory to any form of industrial action from the 12th day of january, 2026. According to sources,a 26 year old house boy David Idah who murdered a retired Senior Magistrate Mrs Olufunmilayo Timeyin,was today wednesday sentenced to death.Justice Abiodun Akinyemi today wednesday sentenced the accused who hails from Benue state and worked as a domestic aide for the late senior magistrate,to death by hanging.The convict had on March 28,2014,killed the 65 year old magistrate at her residence in Laderin Housing Estate,Abeokuta,hacking her with machete before slaughtering her about 3pm.He attacked the magistrate because she sacked him after he was caught stealing.He however returned to the house,scaled the fence before killing the retired magistrate.The convict was arraigned on April 4th 2014,in Abeokuta Chief Magistrate court on one count of unlawful killing.The offence contravened sections 316 and 319 of the Criminal Code Law of Ogun state,2006.
