Putin woos African leaders at showcase summit, says Russia is better partner than 'colonial' West President Vladimir Putin told African leaders on Wednesday that Russia was their best partner, accusing what he cast as a colonial West of still trying to exploit the continent's resources and using debt to hold back development, Reuters reported. The Kremlin chief was speaking at the third Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow, a two-day event attended by African leaders and government delegations from 48 countries, during which he will hold one-on-one talks with many of the 22 individual African leaders attending on everything from trade to security, arms deals and grain supplies. A 38 year old housewife,Mrs Gbemisola Basorun has been reportedly abducted from her residence in Ikorodu on Tuesday,after evening service.She is a mother of two and an HND graduate of Secretarial Administration,was abducted infront of her apartment at No.5,Basorun Abimbola street,Agodo Alara via Odogunyan Ikorodu Lagos.Eye witnesses said she was returning from church in her private car,a pathfinder SUV with registration number plate KTU 476CM in company of her children when four un identified men riding on a motocycle blocked her car at the entrance of the building.Her first child seven year old Olamide,was about opening the gate for her mother when the gunmen alighted from the motorcycle and one of them pointed a gun at her and ordered her to the back seat where her five year old brother was seated.The boy and his sister were later thrown out of the car by their assailants while two of the men sat with the woman and the other one took over the driver's seat.The motorcyclist and the car were said to have driven off together,leaving the children to their fate.Her husband Abimbola Basorun,who was not around when the incident happened said one of their neighbours put a distress call across to him around 8pm and quickly alerted the police both at Sagamu road,Ikorodu and Ogijo Police Divisions,Ogun statewho later recovered the car the following day but his wife's where abouts remain unknown.
