 NAFDAC Reopens Onitsha Drug Market After Month-Long Closure The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has reopened the Onitsha Head Bridge drug market, popularly known as 'Ogbo Ogwu', after a month-long closure for sanitization and regulatory enforcement. The market was shut down as part of NAFDAC's nationwide clampdown on fake and substandard medicines. To prevent a recurrence of the issues that led to the closure, NAFDAC has implemented strict administrative conditions for reopening. Shop owners are required to complete documentation and clearance procedures before their shops can be unsealed. A dedicated NAFDAC desk has been established to facilitate the process efficiently, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.² According to NAFDAC Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, only shops that meet the conditions will be allowed to resume operations. A HOUSEWIFE GBEMISOLA BASORUN,WAS KIDNAPPED IN-FRONT OF HER HOUSE IN IKORODU LAGOS.

The victim, Mrs. Gbemisola Bashorun                                                                                         A 38 year old housewife,Mrs Gbemisola Basorun has been reportedly abducted from her residence in Ikorodu on Tuesday,after evening service.She is a mother of two and an HND graduate of Secretarial Administration,was abducted infront of her apartment at No.5,Basorun Abimbola street,Agodo Alara via Odogunyan Ikorodu Lagos.Eye witnesses said she was returning from church in her private car,a pathfinder SUV with registration number plate KTU 476CM in company of her children when four un identified men riding on a motocycle blocked her car at the entrance of the building.Her first child seven year old Olamide,was about opening the gate for her mother when the gunmen alighted from the motorcycle and one of them pointed a gun at her and ordered her to the back seat where her five year old brother was seated.The boy and his sister were later thrown out of the car by their assailants while two of the men sat with the woman and the other one took over the driver's seat.The motorcyclist and the car were said to have driven off together,leaving the children to their fate.Her husband Abimbola Basorun,who was not around when the incident happened said one of their neighbours put a distress call across to him around 8pm and quickly alerted the police both at Sagamu road,Ikorodu and Ogijo Police Divisions,Ogun statewho later recovered the car the following day but his wife's where abouts remain unknown.
