 VANDAL CRUSHED TO DEATH UNDER COLLAPSED TRANSMISSION TOWER IN DELTA STATE A suspected vandal has been crushed to death under a collapsed vandalised  transmission tower along the 330kV Ughelli-Benin transmission line in Delta State. The incident was discovered during a line patrol carried out by the Delta Sub-Region, Lines Maintenance Department of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), following the tripping of the line on earth fault on the Ughelli - Benin 330kV Transmission line. A statement by the TCN indicates that the patrol team traced the fault to Tower 101, which had collapsed. The body of the suspected vandal was found crushed between the tower members. Tower 101 on the adjacent Ughelli - Sapele 330kV  transmission line had also been vandalized.

                 According to a statement issued yesterday saturday by the Spokesperson Mr Osaghae Ogiemudia of Vangards of Nigeria's Democracy {VND,a coalition of Niger-Delta activists,said in Abuja that,recent events in the country have revealed that the Buhari's regime was out to deal with the Niger Delta people,especially the Ijaw ethnic group in Nigeria.According to the group,the plot to imprison Jonathan has been perfected with ongoing controversy over Excess Crude Account and the allegation levelled against the immediate past Minister of Finance/Coordinating Minister of the Economy.,Dr {Mrs}Ngozi Okonjo Iweala by Edo state governor,Adams Oshiomhole.Ogiemudia said ''The whole plan has been perfected and we know the direction of all the noise by Oshiomhole.We know their target and that is Jonathan.We,the members of the Vanguard of Nigeria's Democracy are aware of some clandestine moves made by the APC led government to probe,investigate,malign and imprison ex President Jonathan.We are already aware of the trumped up charges the APC government is leveling against a man who has diligently served the Nigerian state at the highest level of government''.
