 RE: VIRAL VIDEO OF WOMAN ASSAULTED BY SUSPECTED THUG NEAR ORIENTAL HOTEL The Lagos State Police Command is aware of a viral video circulating on social media, depicting the assault of one Yetunde Amole by a suspected thug near the Oriental Hotel area in Lagos. The Command condemns this act in the strongest terms and wishes to update the public on the actions already taken. The incident occurred on April 7, 2025, at about 1400hrs, when the suspect, identified as Friday Onu, was caught attempting to steal Amole’s car battery. Amole, courageously intervened to prevent the theft, resulting in the suspect assaulting her. Following a prompt response by officers of Maroko Division, Friday Onu was arrested shortly after the incident and detained at the division. Preparations for his arraignment were underway when he suddenly took ill. He was immediately transferred to Falomo Police Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment under close supervision. AFTER VICE PRESIDENT OSINBAJO,ARRIVED BORNO STATE TODAY,2 SUICIDE BOMBERS BLEW UP THEMSELVES.

                                      According to a Military source,two suicide bombers blew up themselves near a hospital in Maiduguri Nigeria today wednesday,shortly after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo arrived in the city to visit camps for people fleeing a militant Islamist insurgence.The blasts injured two people and it happened around 11:30am near the gates of a hospital where suicide bombers killed three people and injured 16 people last saturday.Mohammed Haruna,a man who helped to evacuate people from the scene said ''The second blast occured two minutes after the first one,killed the bomber and injured two other people nearby''.It was not immediately clear whether the bombers had been targeting the hospital again or whether the bombs had gone off accidently.The hospital is one of the few public buildings in an area called Molai,which is on the out skirts of Maiduguri and where security is not always as tight as in the center of the state capital of Borno.Osinbajo was visiting a camp about 10km {6 milies} away that houses some of the 1.5 million people displaced by Boko Haram during the militant group's six year fight to establish an Islamic caliphate in the northeast.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
