Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing. According to BBC,Kenya Alshabab top Commander and mastermind of the Garissa University attack Dulyadin Gamadheere has allegedly been killed in a US Drone attack in Juungal between Bardhere and Buur Hajje Somalia.Gamadheere had a Sh20M bounty on his head.Though reports of his death are yet to be confirmed.The man was the alleged mastermind of the terror attack on Garissa University in Kenya that has left at least 15 people dead and alot of people injured.The BBC reports states that two senior commanders from the Islamist militant group were today killed in a drone strike in south west Somalia.Several loud blasts were heard in the town of Bardere at dawn and the bodies were later found.reports by AFP said that Missiles were fired from an unidentified military aircraft striking al-shabab targets in southern Somalia early today thurday causing casualties.
