 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. FEMI GBAJABIAMILA,EMERGED AS THE MAJORITY LEADER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

                                            According to sources,Femi Gbajabiamila has emerged as the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives after he settled his dispute with the Speaker of the House of Representatives,Yakubu Dogara.The duo along with other members of the All Progressives Congress met with President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday monday to settle the lingering dispute in the Green Chambers.Shortly after the meeting Dogara stated that members of the party in the Green Chamber would proffer a lasting solution to the crises that has torn the party apart.According to him,he will continue to obey and abide by the party's position and decisions on matters concerning the National Assembly.He said ''I will always be by the party.There has never been a time that i never stood firmly by the party.So,like my chairman has explained,we are going to do it in consultation with the party and i'm sure that sooner than later we will have good news for Nigerians''.Femi Gbajabiamila,a member of the House of Representatives who also participated in the meeting,expressed optimism that the dispute would be resolved by today tuesday.He described the meeting as fruitful as all contending groups in the House of Representatives came together for the first time in a cordial atmosphere.
