 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.                              40 years old Mr Sunday Oliseh,who was appointed as the new coach of Nigeria said today wednesday that ''We are not doing Nigeria any favour.My coming to coach the senior team is to serve our fatherland,we have not come to fight war''.Yesterday tuesday evening,Sunday Oliseh who was the former Super Eagle Captain and his assistants had a 90 minute meeting with the Nigerian Football Federation {NFF} Technical and Development Committee,headed by Chief Felix Anyansi Agwu,where he unfolded his plans for the Super Eagles.After the meeting,the NFF Executive Committee received the report of the Technical and Development Committee,and unanimously adopted the recommendation to hire Oliseh as the new Super Eagles Head Coach.Oliseh's first assignment will be in the away African Nations cup qualifier in Tanzania in September.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
