 Nigerian Association for Family Development releases communique on 18 biennial conference held in Awka By Chris Chikelue The Nigerian Association For Family Development (NAFAD) has made public the communique made at the 18th Biennial conference  themed: 'Marriage as a Vocation- Flourishing Despite Modern Challenges'. The communique which was issued on March 30, 2025 at the Bishop AK Obiefuna  Retreat and Pastoral Centre, Okpunor, Awka, Anambra State was signed by NAFAD National President, Mr. Uche Okpala and its National Secretary,  Mrs Tayo Akinyede. It was a gathering that brought together couples, relationship experts, and singles to explore practical ways to strengthen marriages and address contemporary relationship challenges. According to the communique the event emphasized that marriage is a sacred vocation—a call to total self-giving, sacrifice, and shared purpose in building resilient families. READ HOW SHARKS HAVE BEEN CHEWING & ATTACKING PEOPLE TODAY IN NORTH CAROLINA USA.

                      Today wednesday it was reported that around 12:30pm,there was another shark attack at Ocracoke Beach,in Hyde County North Carolina.Though the Hyde County's Twitter page says the incident happened around 12:10pm and the victim is being flown off the island for medical treatment.Last week,two shark bites occured in Dare County,one in Rodanthe and the other in Avon.Friday last week,a 47 year old Charlotte man was injured about a mile north of the Avon fishing Pier when he was bitten in the back by a shark.The man was reportedly swimming with others when the incident occurred.Witnesses say the man thought the sharks were dolphins.He suffered various injuries to his right leg and lower back.He was treated at the scene and then transported by ambulance and helicopter to Norfolk General Hospital in Virginia for his injuries.The next day,a 17 year old boy was swimming with several others when the shark bit him along the beach in Rodanthe.He sustained serious injuries to his right calf,buttocks and both hands.He was also transported to Norfolk General Hospital in Virginia for his injuries.One more photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
