Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing. Stephen Keshi's termination was contained in a statement by the Nigerian Football Federation {NFF} Executive Committee yesterday saturday,said the decision was made ''Having thoroughly reviewed the reports/findings of the NFF Displinary Committee and NFF Technical and Development Committee,as well as having reviewed the actions and in actions of Mr Stephen Keshi,in the performance of his duties as Super Eagles Head Coach.Stephen Keshi was found to lack the required commitment to achieve the Federation's objectives as set out in the Coach's employment contract.To this end and pursuant to the provisions of clause 4.3 of the Employment contract between Mr Stephen Keshi and the NFF {The contract}and the various clauses therein,the Nigerian Football Federation has decided to exercise its option to summarily terminate the employment contract of Mr Stephen Keshi with the federation with immediate effect''.NFF 1st Vice Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi,speaking on behalf of the entire Executive Committee of NFF,assured Nigerians that the decision was not taken lightly or with any prejudice,but in the ultimate interest of Nigeria football.He thanked Mr Keshi for his services to the country and wished him the very best in his future endeavors.In the interim,the Super Eagles team affairs will be jointly managed by Assistant coach,Salisu Yusuf and the Technical Directorate of the NFF headed by Coach Shuaibu Amodu,until the Federation names in due course a new Head of coach.One more photo below.
