The Fanti Carnival in Lagos originated in the 19th century, brought by Afro-Brazilian returnees (known as the Aguda or Amaro) who settled on Lagos Island after returning from slavery in Brazil. It began in the 1880s, merging Brazilian Samba culture with local Yoruba traditions, often celebrated by Communities like Lafiaji and Campos.   "Today, I was at the Fanti Carnival at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Island and it was a lively showcase of culture, with each group bringing its own colours, choreography and strong sense of identity. It was especially meaningful to see historic communities like Campos, Lafiaji, Okoo-Faji, Okepopo, Olowogbowo, Epetedo, and Isale-Eko come together, making the day even more memorable. From the coordinated parades to the music, dance, and vibrant displays by our young people, as well as the energy of the crowd, it was a rich blend of culture and creativity. STEPHEN KESHI,SACKED YESTERDAY BY THE NIGERIAN FOOTBALL FEDERATION.

                         Stephen Keshi's termination was contained in a statement by the Nigerian Football Federation {NFF} Executive Committee yesterday saturday,said the decision was made ''Having thoroughly reviewed the reports/findings of the NFF Displinary Committee and NFF Technical and Development Committee,as well as having reviewed the actions and in actions of Mr Stephen Keshi,in the performance of his duties as Super Eagles Head Coach.Stephen Keshi was found to lack the required commitment to achieve the Federation's objectives as set out in the Coach's employment contract.To this end and pursuant to the provisions of clause 4.3 of the Employment contract between Mr Stephen Keshi and the NFF {The contract}and the various clauses therein,the Nigerian Football Federation has decided to exercise its option to summarily terminate the employment contract of Mr Stephen Keshi with the federation with immediate effect''.NFF 1st Vice Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi,speaking on behalf of the entire Executive Committee of NFF,assured Nigerians that the decision was not taken lightly or with any prejudice,but in the ultimate interest of Nigeria football.He thanked Mr Keshi for his services to the country and wished him the very best in his future endeavors.In the interim,the Super Eagles team affairs will be jointly managed by Assistant coach,Salisu Yusuf and the Technical Directorate of the NFF headed by Coach Shuaibu Amodu,until the Federation names in due course a new Head of coach.One more photo below.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.  Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
