  BENUE STATE POLICE COMMAND  PRESS RELEASE  18TH APRIL ,2025   SANKERA ATTACK: POLICE ACTION On  17/4/2025  at about 2100hrs, information was received that a large number of  suspected militia had invaded  Sankera axis of Benue state with intention to attack communities around Gbagir, Ukum Local Government Area.  Upon receipt of this report, the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Police command, CP. Steve H. Yabanet FCID, psc (+)  ordered tactical teams to move to the area and join forces with police officers on ground and other security agencies to forestall the attack.  Following this order, a team of officers moved to the area and engaged them. 2 PEOPLE DEAD YESTERDAY,WHEN TWO TRAIN COLLIDED AT AGEGE LAGOS.

               According to sources,two passengers were confirmed dead,while one other person sustained severe injuries,when two trains collided yesterday sunday in Agege,Lagos state.Mr Akin Osinowo,Lagos Railway District Manager {RDM},confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria {NANA},today monday.Osinowo called on the families of the deceased to come and collect the corpses at the Federal Medical Centre {FMC},Ebute Meta,with relevant information.Osinowo said that the two casualties were passengers who illegally hanged on the rooftop of the moving train.The injured passenger was currently receiving treatment at an hospital.The district manager said that the Managing Director of the NRC,Mr Adeseyi Sijuwade,has instituted a panel of inquiry to find out the immediate and remote causes of the incident.
