Army sergeant’s wife deported to Honduras amid Trump administration’s immigration crackdown on military families The wife of an Army sergeant and mother of a 6-year-old was deported to Honduras Monday, as the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown increasingly affects spouses and parents of active-duty military personnel. Army Sgt. Hedar Leonel Turcios Juarez confirmed that his wife, Cristy Maryori Villafranca Trejo, had been deported. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained Villafranca outside a Walmart in July while the couple’s young daughter was present, according to her husband. Villafranca had left Honduras in 2016 because of violence, he said. Turcios Juarez came to the United States from Honduras in 2014 for similar reasons. After attending high school in the U.S., he joined the Army and became a U.S. citizen in 2024 following a nine-month deployment to the Middle East. According to sources,a brave residents of Ayobo in Ipaja area of Lagos state,have arrested four suspects who allegedly came in the night to rob the residents.The incident happened at Ashapa area of Ayobo in Ipaja.The residents also recovered arms such as guns,cutlasses,knives,charms and other weapons from the robbers.The suspects allegedly invaded the area with their arms to rob the residents at about 3.00 am on sunday.The residents resisted and pursued them into a bush in the area.They mobilized other residents who surrounded the bush and combed it,and eventually arrested four of the suspects,while one of them escaped.They handed over the four suspects and the weapons they recovered from them,were given to the police in Ipaja division who transferred the suspects to the Commissioner of Police at the Command's Headquarters in Ikeja.The commissioner of police,Mr Fatai Owoseni,who saw the suspects and some of the residents at the State Command commended the residents for their efforts in policing their community.Some of the residents who spoke to pressmen confirmed that robbers have been terrorizing them and they had to mobilise themselves to ward off the robbery attacks.It was while some groups were on guard at night that the suspects came and they raised the alarm which attracted other residents and it led to the arrest of the suspects.
