 GOVERNOR ABBA  YUSUF SACKS  KANO STATE HEAD OF SERVICE   The Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has relieved the State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, of his appointment with immediate effect. In a statement  by the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the decision is part of the ongoing efforts by the present administration to reposition the state civil service for greater efficiency, discipline, and improved service delivery across all government institutions. Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the outgoing Head of Service for his contributions and dedication to the service of the State  The statement further directed that Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, the Permanent Secretary, Admin and General Services at the Cabinet Office, to serve in an  acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service. A NIGERIAN DOCTOR OSONUGA,SHORTLISTED TO TRAVEL TO SPACE.

2758717_image                                                                             According to sources,a Doctor identified as Freeman Osonuga has been shortlisted as one of the lucky human being to travel to space.He was selected through the Rising Star programme,which was launched at the One Young World Summit 2014 in Dublin.The Programme invited both One Young World ambassadors and outstanding members of the public aged 18-30 to nominate themselves to take on the trip of a lifetime.If selected for the programme one will not only embark on a once in a lifetime flight to space but will also be offered a three year management contract.He will be the first black African to fly to space.Osonuga is a 2015 WIRED Innovation fellow.He will be speaking live on stage at WIRED 2015 conference in October in London.Sources further said that in late 2014,at the peak of the Ebola epidemic in West Africa,he worked as a volunteer with the Africa Union team of Ebola responders for 6 months in Sierra Leone.Freeman Osonuga,graduated from Olabisi Onabanjo University where he studied medicine and surgery.
