 Carrick favourite for Man Utd caretaker role Michael Carrick has emerged as favourite to be appointed Manchester United caretaker head coach, according to sources close to the process. Club chiefs are hoping to have an appointment in place for when players return to training on Wednesday. While a final decision is yet to be reached, talks are said to have progressed with the 44-year-old over the position. Carrick previously had a three-game stint as United's temporary boss following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's dismissal in 2021. He won two and drew one of those matches but left after Ralf Rangnick's arrival as interim manager. Solskjaer held face-to-face discussions with the club on Saturday about a return. United sacked Ruben Amorim as manager after 14 months in the job on 5 January. BOKO HARAM TO ATTACK LAGOS AND OTHER PARTS OF NIGERIA-DSS.

                        Today sunday,intelligence official said there has been a sudden influx of Boko Haram agents into Lagos and other parts of Nigeria outside the militants main area in northeastern Nigeria.Tony Opuiyo,spokesman of the Department of state services,said Boko Haram is tryong to extend their reach after being pushed out of the urban centers of northeastern Nigeria in recent months.He said that security had arrested 14 Boko Haran suspects in Lagos,Abuja and other parts of the country outside the northeast in the past two months.Thpse arrested include cell leaders,some of whom admitted to involvement in recent suicide attacks.Authorities on friday said they arrested a teenager who was spying on Abuja's international airport for Boko Haram.God please protect us.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
