Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. Dr William Babatunde Fowler,appointed as the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service {FIRS}by the President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari.Dr Fowler was the Chief Executive Officer/Executive Chairman of the Lagos state Board of internal Revenue from 2005 to 2014.Under his leadership,the Lagos state Board of Internal Revenue reportedly achieved a sharp increase in internally generated revenue from an average of N3.6.billion per month in January 2006,to an average of about N20.5 billion per month in 2013.He will serve as acting Executive Chairman of FIRS until his appointment is confirmed by the senate.President Buhari has also appointed Mr Aliyu Yahaya Gusau as Director General Budget Office of the Federation.Mr Gusau's appointment is with effect from August 18,2015 ans is for a term of four years,renewable for another four years.
