 LAGOS PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICERS PROMISE MORE PUSH FOR GOVERNMENT POLICIES, PROJECTS Lagos State Public Affairs Officers have resolved to step up enlightenment on government policies and projects.  It was all at a strategic meeting of the Public Affairs officers in Lagos State Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), which was convened by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy Gbenga Omotoso to explore innovative ways of enlightening the public about activities of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration via all media platforms. “You can’t light a candle and put it under the table” Mr. Omotoso said, quoting from the Holy Bible. The gathering was a platform to review activities of the team and discuss successes achieved, identify challenges, and chart ways to foster positive perception of the government across all divisions of the State and beyond Lagos. EX-ARMY CHIEF OF STAFF IN BURUNDI COLONEL BIKOMAGU,ASSASSINATED YESTERDAY.

                       According to sources,Unidentified gunmen shot and killed Burundi's former army chief of staff yesterday saturday.Colonel Jean Bikomagu was shot dead outside his home in Bujumbura in the morning as he returned from church.His daughter who was with him,was seriously wounded and rushed to the hospital.According to the Burundi president spokesperson Willy Nyamitwe said on his facebook page that ''Another black weekend in Burundi.Blackened by the assassination of a senior member of the Burundian army in retirement,Colonel Jean Bikomagu..Very sad,very shocking''.Colonel Bikomagu was army chief during the civil war that started in 1993 when the Tutsi dominated army was fighting then rebel leader,and now President,Nkurunziza's CNDD-FDD Hutu rebels.The assassinations in Burundi is beginning to scare me.Early these month,gunmen killed a former Burundian security chief and close ally of President Nkurunziza.The next day,a prominent human rights activist who openly opposed Nkurunziza's bid for a third term in office was shot and seriously wounded.Sources claimed all these assassination is related to the fact that President Nkurunziza is re-elected into office for the third time.
