 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. MACHAR ACCUSED SOUTH SUDAN GOVERNMENT,OF TRYING TO BREAK THE CEASE FIRE AGREEMENT.

               Today monday,South Sudan's rebel leader Riek Machar accused government forces of repeatedly breaking a ceasefire and putting at risk the peace deal that was signed.President Salva Kiir who signed the peace pact on wednesday also complained about the rebels attack.The U.N Security Council has warned both sides that it could impose sanctions if the deal collapses.Machar who spoke with Reuters in an interview in Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa said ''There is danger that is looming that could wreck this peace agreement now.We believe that this is an act that is a serious violation to the ceasefire because what it does is provoke our troops that are in control of these areas''.Machar is expected to become first vice president during a three year transitional period envisaged by the peace deal that aims to end the 20 months of conflict.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
