 MODEL COLLEGES/UPGRADED JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS COMMENCE E-REGISTRATION FOR YEAR 2025 ENTRANCE EXAMINATION The Lagos State Government has commenced Year 2025 e-Registraton Entrance Examination (Screening Test) for primary 6 pupils transiting to junior secondary schools into its Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools.  The Director, Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu confirmed that the e-Registration will commence on Thursday 6th February and ends on Friday, 16th May, 2025, adding that the Screening will be conducted through Computer Based Test (CBT) only between Wednesday, 28th May and Friday, 30th May, 2025, at the various CBT designated centres across the State. Mr. Orunsolu stressed that qualified pupils from public and private Schools are to pay a sum of #10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira Only) for the Application. PEOPLE OF ILE-IFE,SHOCKED THAT THE ORO RITES FOR THE LATE OONI,WAS EXTENDED TO TODAY SATURDAY.

               According to some residents in Ile-Ife today saturday said that the palace town criers were going round the town announcing that residents especially commercial drivers and motorcyclists should stay indoors between 7a.m and 6pm.That will enable the Oro deity perform the necessary rite for the late Ooni of Ife.It was gathered that the Head of the Oro cult in Ife,the Awara of Iwara,Oba Layi Adereti had ordered the curfew,warning that anyone who flouted the order,irrespective of age or gender would face its consequences.However,residents were apprehensive of the curfew,that they rushed to the few available markets to get essentials that will last them for the day.Since last week friday,major market in Ife had been shut down ever since the burial rites started.As a result of the curfew,some Heads of Departments in the Obafemi Aolowo University,Ile-Ife cancelled the continuous assessment tests for their students earlier scheduled to hold on today saturday.Many residents as well as the Okada riders had thought the mourning period would end yesterday August 21,but they were surprised when they heard the stay at home order extends till today.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
