 PRESS RELEASE  6TH OSOM GAMES TODAY DECLARED OPEN BY THE NSC CHAIRMAN.  The National Sports Commission (NSC) is making headlines once again with its commitment to promoting Nigerian athletes through regular internal competitions. Today, Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), declared the 6th OSOM Games open in a colourful ceremony at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium in Abuja. This statement reinforces the Commission's dedication to their Renewed Hope Initiative for Nigerian Sports Economy (RHINSE) mandate and their goal of turning sports from a field of consumption to one of production. The OSOM Games, which stands for One Service One Medal, is an inter-security agency competition that aims to foster unity and camaraderie among the various security agencies in Nigeria. PRESIDENT OBAMA,UNVEILS CLEAN POWER PLAN TO COMBAT CARBON POLLUTION.

                       According to sources,US President Barack Obama has announced a major environmental policy changes aimed at increasing efforts to combat climate change.Obama says the pkan is the most important one ever taken in tackling climate change.The aim of the revised Clean Power Plan is to cut greenhouse gas emissions from the US power stations by nearly a third within 15 years.President Obama said yesterday monday while unveiling the plan designed to reduce power plant emissions and fated to be a major 2016 campaign issue.,''Combating climate change will protect the nation's economy,security and health.This is our moment to get this right and leave something better for our kids''Democratic presidential candidates praised the plan as a good way to confront the challenges of climate challenge.Republicans cast it as over regulation that will reduce jobs and inflate utility bills,and vowed to change it if elected''.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
