 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. RWANDA SPY CHIEF ''KARAKE'',WHO WAS ACCUSED OF 1994 GENOCIDE,FREED TODAY BY A BRITISH COURT.

                      Rwanda's Spy Chief Karenzi Karake,was freed today monday by a British court,after he was arrested in June on a warrant over alleged reprisal killings after the 1994 genocide.Officials did not immediately provide further details but a fuller statement from Britain's Crown Prosecution service was expected shortly.Rwanda had condemned the arrst of Karake.He had been granted bail by a London court pending extradition proceedings.Karake was partof the Rwandan Patriotic Front {RPF},the then rebel force that halted the genocide and now runs the country.To supporters,Karake is a hero who helped stop the slaughter of 800,000 people,mostly minority Tutsis.The Spanish warrant stemmed from a lengthy indictment issued by a judge in 2008 which accused 40 senior Rwandas,including Karake,of war crimes in the aftermath of the genocide.Karake was also accused of ordering the killing of three Spanish volunteers from a medical charity in 1997.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
