World’s Youngest Reigning Monarch , King Oyo, Dies at 34 King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the traditional ruler of Uganda’s Tooro Kingdom who became the world’s youngest reigning monarch after ascending the throne at three, has died at the age of 34. The monarch reportedly died on Thursday, with the Prime Minister of the Tooro Kingdom, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki, announcing his death on Friday. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed. However, Ugandan media reports quoted a government minister as saying that King Oyo had been critically ill and was receiving medical treatment in the United States. Reacting to the development, Akiiki described the monarch’s death as a major loss to the royal family and the people of Tooro. He urged members of the kingdom to remain united and calm while mourning the traditional ruler. According to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority {NCAA} said the helicopter that is carrying 12 people crashed into a Lagoon in Oworonshoki Lagos yesterday wednesday.The helicopter was operated by offshore energy transportation specialists Bristow Group,flying from an oil rig ,crashed at around 3:30pm shortly before it was due to land.Other sources said they were watching the helicopter swaying in the air and then it started to go down.As soon as it hit the water,they saw flames.A spokesman for the NCAA said the aircraft had been carrying 10 passengers and two crew.''Four bodies have been recovered.Six people survived and two people are still missing''.But other source said the two bodies have been found.Bristow Helicopters {Nigeria} Limited confirmed the crash today thursday by saying that ''The aircraft a Sikorsky S-7 6C+,was returning from a drilling rig offshore''.More photos below.
