“We Don’t Want Violent Politics In Kaduna,” Group Tells Political Parties, Urges Them to Call Supporters To Order The Kaduna Peace Ambassadors Forum has called on political parties in Kaduna State to caution their supporters and prevent further violence following recent clashes involving members of major political parties in the state. The group said Kaduna had enjoyed relative peace for a long period and should not return to an era of violent politics. In a statement, the forum expressed concern that political disagreements and clashes in the past had sometimes escalated into religious conflicts, with consequences for communities across the state. It therefore called on security agencies to take appropriate measures to identify and hold accountable those responsible for the recent clashes, while strengthening preventive measures to avoid a recurrence. The Zimbabwean government has announced a ban on the importation of second hand clothes and shoes intended for resale.Though their government opposition parties have criticized the ban,saying it was negatively impart the livelihoods of thousands of unemployed locals who have relied on selling second hand clothes.Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa says the ban comes amidst health concerns but is also aimed at protecting the local clothes manufacturing sector.Hmmm to me,the disadvantage about banning sensitive products like cloths is that,there will be a high rate of smuggling of clothes into Zimbabwe.
