  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. We made him governor because Oshiomhole persuaded us. 22 HOUSES,WASHED AWAY YESTERDAY IN ABUJA AFTER A VERY HEAVY RAIN FALL.

              Today tuesday,victims of yesterday flood in Abuja spoke with NAN that the rainfall yesterday monday night flooded their houses and washed away valuable property.One of the victims,Blessing Samuel,said that she narrowly survived when the house she was living in with her child collapsed.''My child and i were sleeping at about 4:00am.When we woke up,we saw water everywhere in the room.All i could think of is my child.I rushed and picked my baby and immediately went out of the building and saw the house collapsing''.22 houses were destroyed by the flood.Mr Ibrahim Daniel,the council's Chairman,who visited the flood scene and sympathised with the victims,advised the residents against dumping refuse inside drains.Daniel who promised  to assist the people,said he would report the matter to the appropriate authority for further action.The flood took place at Sheda in Kwali Area council of the FCT.They are also calling on National Emergency Management Agency {NEMA} to assist them.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
