 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. 6 PEOPLE DIED YESTERDAY IN SOKOTO STATE,AFTER A BOAT CAPSIZED.

                        Yesterday saturday,six people died in a boat accident that occurred in a river in Bengaji District of Yabo Local Government Area of Sokoto state.Today sunday Alhaji Mika'ilu Sabo-Yabo,the Assistant Information Officer of the local government,confirmed the deaths in a statement issued to newsmen in Sokoto.He said the six persons died after the boat they were travelling in capsized.According to the statement,four other passengers of the ill fated boat survived with minor injuries.The boat broke into two while in motion before it capsized killing six of the passengers,who were from Kissa,Gadara and Kalangu villages.''Nobody can tell me what really happened as at now,but further investigations would reveal the real cause of the mishap.The deceased have since been buried according to Islamic rites,while the injured persons are responding to treatment at the hospital''.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
