  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. 6 PEOPLE DIED YESTERDAY IN SOKOTO STATE,AFTER A BOAT CAPSIZED.

                        Yesterday saturday,six people died in a boat accident that occurred in a river in Bengaji District of Yabo Local Government Area of Sokoto state.Today sunday Alhaji Mika'ilu Sabo-Yabo,the Assistant Information Officer of the local government,confirmed the deaths in a statement issued to newsmen in Sokoto.He said the six persons died after the boat they were travelling in capsized.According to the statement,four other passengers of the ill fated boat survived with minor injuries.The boat broke into two while in motion before it capsized killing six of the passengers,who were from Kissa,Gadara and Kalangu villages.''Nobody can tell me what really happened as at now,but further investigations would reveal the real cause of the mishap.The deceased have since been buried according to Islamic rites,while the injured persons are responding to treatment at the hospital''.
