BAUCHI STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE ADVOCACY VISIT: CP OMOLORI HOSTS BACATMA, RENEWS COMMITMENT TO PUBLIC HEALTH, PLEDGES FULL SUPPORT FOR 2026 ITN DISTRIBUTION CAMPAIGN The Bauchi State Police Command has pledged its full support to the 2026 Insecticide-Treated Net (ITN) Distribution Campaign following an advocacy visit and formal request from the Bauchi State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Malaria (BACATMA). During the visit on 24th August, 2026, Executive Chairman BACATMA, Dr. Adamu Sambo sought the Command’s partnership to ensure the safe, secure, and timely distribution of Insecticide-Treated Nets to households across all 20 Local Government Areas of the State. According to the Prosecutor,Sgt Jimah Iseghede,who told an Ikeja Magistrate court today tuesday that 45 year old driver Ganiyu Afolabi,who lives at No.9,Ayinde close,Meiran Lagos state,alleged that Ganiyu had called in the 16 year old gilr to his room under the pretext of sending her on an errand and he defiled her in the process.When the 16 year old victim told the accused that she had missed her monthly flow,he procured a drug for her to use but the girl told her mother and the accused was apprehended.The accused Ganiyu is now facing a three count charge of sexual assault,defilement and attempt to procure abortion.The alleged offences were committed sometime in May 2015 at the accused residence.Though the accused Ganiyu,pleaded not guilty to all the charges.The Chief Magistrate Mr Tajudeen Elias,ordered that the accused Ganiyu should be held in prison custody until September 9 2015,when the court would deliver its ruling on his bail application.
