A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse. 42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son. Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and the Princeton Police Department. According to the Prosecutor,Sgt Jimah Iseghede,who told an Ikeja Magistrate court today tuesday that 45 year old driver Ganiyu Afolabi,who lives at No.9,Ayinde close,Meiran Lagos state,alleged that Ganiyu had called in the 16 year old gilr to his room under the pretext of sending her on an errand and he defiled her in the process.When the 16 year old victim told the accused that she had missed her monthly flow,he procured a drug for her to use but the girl told her mother and the accused was apprehended.The accused Ganiyu is now facing a three count charge of sexual assault,defilement and attempt to procure abortion.The alleged offences were committed sometime in May 2015 at the accused residence.Though the accused Ganiyu,pleaded not guilty to all the charges.The Chief Magistrate Mr Tajudeen Elias,ordered that the accused Ganiyu should be held in prison custody until September 9 2015,when the court would deliver its ruling on his bail application.
