McDonald’s launches World Cup meal and collectible cups ahead of 2026 FIFA tournament kickoff McDonald’s is launching limited-time World Cup meals and collectibles ahead of the FIFA tournament kickoff on June 11, as excitement builds for the expanded 48-team competition co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada. The fast-food chain, returning as an official tournament sponsor, will roll out its World Cup-themed menu nationwide starting June 4. Customers can choose between a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets meal, both served with a special gold-packaged Big Mac Sauce. As part of the promotion, McDonald’s is also releasing collectible cups featuring nine global soccer stars and cultural icons. The lineup includes Christian Pulisic, David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, Son Heung-Min, Lamine Yamal, Alphonso Davies, Santiago Gimenez, and the brand’s mascot Grimace. Today sunday,it was confirmed that by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria {NAHCON} has confirmed that three Nigerian pilgrims sustained minor injuries in the crane crash in Mecca's Grand Mosque in Saudi Arabia.The Chairman of the commission,Mallam Abdullahi Muhtar,who made this known at a news conference in Abuja,said that the victims were responding to treatment in the Holy land.Mukhtar,who did not name the victims,however said that two were from Kaduna and one from Gombe.He expressed deep shock over the sad incident but assured that it would not affect this year's exercise in any way.Media report had said that 103 people died and over 200 people were injured in the incident.''On the commission'spart,we have advised the various states pilgrims board not to allow their pilgrims to go close to the Grand Mosque for now.They have adhered strictly to our directive and it is yielding positive results''.Mukhtar also disclosed that 53,800 pilgrims had so far been transported to Saudi Arabia as at saturday.He promised that the remaining prilgrims would be transported to the Holy land before the deadline of September 18.The picture above is a victim who died during the crash while he was praying.May his soul rest in peace.
