 Nigeria's Defence Minister Summons Service Chiefs Amid Surge in Attacks on Military Bases Nigeria's Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has urgently summoned the nation's top military leaders to a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja. The session addresses the escalating attacks targeting military installations, particularly in the North East region. The meeting includes key figures such as: - Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede - Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu - Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke - Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass - Representatives from the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) The summons comes in response to recent deadly assaults by terrorists on military bases in the North East. ARMED ROBBERS,RAIDED YOUTH CORPS MEMBERS LODGE IN OGUN STATE YESTERDAY.

                    Yesterday saturday morning,armed robbers invaded the residence of National Youth Corps  members serving in Ogun state.The residence is located behind Development Centre,Presidential Boulevard,Abeokuta,the Ogun state capital.The robbery at the lodge,which is the third within five months,occurred at about 3:00am when the Youth Corps members were fast asleep.Items lost include some amount of money,ten laptops and over twenty five telephones.An eyewitness account has it that the bandits exploited the absence of security in the vicinity to gain access to the lodge and at gun point robbed the Youth Corps members.The armed robbers forced their way into each flat at gun point and thereafter embarked on the raid,unhindered.Two of the bandits moved from one room to the other to ransack,while the other two stayed outside to attack anybody that resisted.The Youth Corps members said they had earlier reported the two previous incidents to the police but no action was taken until the robbers struck again yesterday saturday morning..The Corp Members said ''We are begging security authorities in the state and NYSC authorities to come to our aid before the bandits start killing us''.Police sources who confirmed the incident,informed that efforts are ongoing to provide adequate surveillance in the area.
