 U.S Finalizes $20,000 Visa Bond Policy Affecting Nigeria and 49 Other Nations The United States government has officially formalized its visa bond policy, making it a permanent measure that could require travelers from 50 designated countries, including Nigeria, to pay a refundable bond of up to $20,000 before receiving certain visas. First introduced as a pilot scheme in 2025, the policy targets applicants seeking B1 and B2 visas, which are designated for business and tourism. According to the U.S. Department of State, the initiative is designed to bolster compliance with local immigration laws and drastically reduce visa overstay rates. HORSE OR DONKEY RIDES,BANNED IN BORNO STATE BY THE NIGERIAN ARMY.

                It was reported yesterday by sources that horse riding and donkeys in Borno state,has been outlawed by the Nigerian military because of the recent attack strategy by the Islamist militant group Boko Haram.The Boko Haram have started attacking innocent people and villages on horseback.The military communicated the decision through the Shehu of Borno,Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi.Last week,Boko Haram members on horseback killed over 80 people in three villages of the state,with similar attacks also reported in other past of the north east region.It was against this that the military said {A resident reported speech} ''Issued a ban on horse riding and the Shehu {of Borno} gathered us all and informed us of the decision.He told us that despite the fact that the people of Borno have been known with riding horses,that should be stopped henceforth.If the soldiers spotted anyone on horse back,they cannot determine his true identity''.
