 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly. NIGERIAN UNION OF JOURNALIST,PLANS TO DISRUPT THISDAY EVENT TOMORROW FOR NON PAYMENT OF SALARIES.

                 In a statement by the National President of Nigerian Union of Journalists {NUJ},Waheed Odusile said today friday in Lagos that the publisher of Thisday,Mr Nduka Obaigbena,had been notified,and that if the management failed to effect the payment of their outstanding salaries by 2pm today friday September 4,2015,the union would disrupt the organisation's 20th anniversary celebration.According to NAN's report,the anniversary celebration is scheduled to hold on saturday,September 5,at the Eko Hotels and Suites,Victoria Island,Lagos.The statement said that the letter sent to Obaigbenna on wednesday,noted that the action would take place with the full backing of the Nigeria Labour Congress.''There is no going back on the disruption of the company's 20th anniversary celebration except the flamboyant publisher pays his workers by 2pm on friday''.
