  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. We made him governor because Oshiomhole persuaded us. PRESIDENT BUHARI RE-ASSURED NIGERIANS IN GHANA TODAY,THAT HE WILL NAME HIS CABINET THIS MONTH.

                    President Buhari gave the assurance today at a joint press conference with President John Dramani Mahama of Ghana,he said ''After i was sworn in,i said i will have my cabinet in September.I expect that Nigerians should ask me questions after the 30th of September if i do not do so.The first thing i did after i came into office was to reorganized the military and clear orders were given to them in terms of retraining,re-equipping and redeployment of troops.In the northeast,the military is gaining ground and Boko Haram has been limited to the Sambisa forest.Internally Displaced Persons are gradually moving back home and they are being reintegrated into their respective communities''.President Mahama said that Nigeria and Ghana will soon begin the process of reviving their joint commission for cooperation between the intelligence and anti-graft agencies of both countries.The Ghana President also thanked Buhari for his visit and he told him that his country will support and cooperate with Nigeria in the fight against terrorism.One more photo below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
