LASG PRESENTS STAFF OF OFFICE TO NEW ONIȘẸ OF ISE KINGDOM The Lagos State Government has presented the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to Prince Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, as His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, the Onise of Ise Kingdom in Lekki Local Government Area. The presentation was performed on Friday, August 21, 2026, by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, with the approval of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Executive Council, following the demise of the late Oba Ganiu Adebowale Adegbesan, Onise of Ise Kingdom. According to the United Nations who said today friday that the measles outbreak in Democratic Republic of Congo's copper mining,has killed 428 people and infected about 30,000 people since the beginning of the year.More than 100 deaths and 10,000 additional cases have been recorded since mid August,when the United Nations committed $2.4 million to fight the outbreak in the former province of Katanga,which was recently divided into four.Humanitarian groups said the money was not enough and poor roads and health services in the region were hindering vaccination drives.Yvon Edoumou,spokesman for the U.N Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs {OCHA},said ''We have contained the disease somewhat in the short term,but it's sad to see that the disease is still progressing''.One more photo below.
