STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi. As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child. I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them. Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour. My prayers are with the family. In a statement issued by the Registrar of Kogi state university,Dr Yakubu Abubakar in Lokoja today sunday,said 19 of the affected students were expelled for various examination misconduct and 49 others withdrawn for poor academic performance.Some of the students also had their admission withdrawn for failure to register within the stipulated period and wrong entry requirements and that the affected students cut across all the faculties.The Registrar stated that Prof.Mohammed Abdulkadir had been appointed the new Vice Chancellor of the university to take over from Prof.Hassan Isah,whose tenure expired on October 12.He said Abdulkadir had since resumed duty,nothing that until his appointment,he was a professor of economic history from Bayero University,Kano.He further said that the new vice chancellor promised to run an inclusive and consultative administration and appealed to stakeholders to join hands with him in moving the school forward.One more photo below.
