 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. A FEMALE SUICIDE BOMBER WAS SHOT TODAY BY SOLDIERS IN BORNO,BEFORE SHE DETONATED HER BOMB.

                                        Today sunday, soldiers of the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri,Borno state gunned down a female suicide bomber trying to enter the barracks.The soldiers watched in horror as the bomb strapped on her body exploded.The suicide bomber described as a tall girl in red hijab approached the gate around 6:00am,defying warnings by soldiers to stop and identify herself.A witness said ''I was on duty at the gate when i heard my colleague,a soldier saying to her do not be stupid,stop there and tell me who you are.The would be bomber responded:You are stupid also,i will not stop,At that stage,i took cover in readiness for anything.I knew she must be on a rough mission but i was thinking they were many.That soldier warned her again that he would shoot if she refused to stop.The conversation was in Hausa.Meanwhile,she was still approaching us.Then she replied him,shoot me,i know i will die just once.He fired at her once but he could not get her.Another soldier shot her on the leg and she fell.Even while on the ground,she was still crawling toward us.That was the singular action that proved to us that this was a hardened bomber.We ran back for safety.From the far distance,another soldier opened fire on her and the bomb strapped to her body went off.We combed everywhere in case they were many but no other person was seen.No soldier sustained injury''.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
