 U.S Finalizes $20,000 Visa Bond Policy Affecting Nigeria and 49 Other Nations The United States government has officially formalized its visa bond policy, making it a permanent measure that could require travelers from 50 designated countries, including Nigeria, to pay a refundable bond of up to $20,000 before receiving certain visas. First introduced as a pilot scheme in 2025, the policy targets applicants seeking B1 and B2 visas, which are designated for business and tourism. According to the U.S. Department of State, the initiative is designed to bolster compliance with local immigration laws and drastically reduce visa overstay rates. AMBODE EARMARKED OVER N1 BILLION FOR RENOVATION & SUPPLY OF FURNITURES/EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS.

                                     On friday the 23rd of October 2015,Governor Akinwumi Ambode said his administration has earmarked over N1 billion for renovation and supply of furnitures and education materials across all secondary schools in the state.The Governor,who reiterated the determination of his administration to invest massively in educational sector,said 1,300 teachers from thousands of persons who applied last month will soon be employed to teach in the primary schools in the state.Governor Ambode,who spoke in Ilara-Epe while inaugurating Augustine University,a private university owned by the Catholic Church,also assured of plans of his administration to resolve the lingering crisis in the Lagos State University {LASU}.He said the need to resolve the crisis in the institution prompted the inauguration of new Governing Councils for the institution ad other tertiary institutions in the state.The Augustine University sits on a massive 135 hectares of land in Ilara-Epe.The foundation of the institution was laid on October 27,2009 and the operational license was granted by the NUC on May 27,2015.The University is starting with 13 programmes to be run by two faculties.One more photo below.
