The recent clash between members of the Hausa and Yoruba communities in Ikola underscored a more fundamental and urgent public safety concern: the grave danger posed to human life by residential structures erected directly under high-voltage transmission lines. According to Niger's defense minister,who confirmed that two Niger soldiers were killed today in a suicide attack by a group of suspected Boko Harsm militants in the southeastern region of Diffa.Four attackers attempted to enter the town of Diffa today wednesday morning but were intercepted 10 km {six miles}outside and then attacked by security forces.However,at least one of the militants still managed to to detonate an explosive device.Karidio Mahamadou said to pressmen that ''Two of our soldiers died after being hit by the explosion,three others were injured''.One more photo below.
