 International Museum Day: Anambra Govt Reiterates Commitment to Transforming Igboukwu Museum To  World-class Museum By Ifeyinwa Ogwo In line with Gov. Chukwuma Soludo's unwavering commitment to preserve and promote Anambra cultural legacy, the Igboukwu Museum is currently undergoing a refurbishment that will transform the museum into a world-class magnetic hub for tourists, scholars, and researchers. Like this year's International Museum Day theme; "Museums for Education and Research," the Igboukwu Museum on completion will be a static repository of artifacts for research purposes and a dynamic classroom where history breathes and curiosity thrives. Speaking, the Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji said that the refurbishment at the Igboukwu Museum is a welcome development that will attract both local and international tourists, researchers and scholars to the state. GOVERNOR AMBODE'S 37 CABINET NOMINEES WERE CONFIRMED TODAY+HIS CONDOLENCE VISIT TO LATE DISU'S FAMILY.

                            Today thursday,the Lagos State House of Assembly finally confirmed the 37 cabinet nominees of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for the state Executive Council.The confirmation,which took place during plenary,was preceded by the presentation of a report of the 15 man committee,headed by Wasiu Eshinlokun Sanni,the Deputy Speaker of the House,set up to screen the nominees.Eshinlokun revealed that all the nominees were invited by the committee and that they all submitted copies of their resumes and certificates.He also said the documents submitted were thoroughly verified by the committee,which sat for one week from monday,5 October to friday,9 October,2015.Speaker of the House,Mudasiru Obasa,asked the Clerk of the House,Mr Segun Abiru,to send a letter to the governor indicating that the nominees had been confirmed by the House.The report was taken after the House embarked on a general screening of the House during which the nominees were simply asked to introduce themselves and explain how they were screened by the committees last week.On the Lagos State official website,pictures of Governor Ambode's condolence visit to late Lekki Free Trade Zone boss Tajudeen Disu was posted.View the pictures below.
