NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. Today thursday,the Lagos State House of Assembly finally confirmed the 37 cabinet nominees of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for the state Executive Council.The confirmation,which took place during plenary,was preceded by the presentation of a report of the 15 man committee,headed by Wasiu Eshinlokun Sanni,the Deputy Speaker of the House,set up to screen the nominees.Eshinlokun revealed that all the nominees were invited by the committee and that they all submitted copies of their resumes and certificates.He also said the documents submitted were thoroughly verified by the committee,which sat for one week from monday,5 October to friday,9 October,2015.Speaker of the House,Mudasiru Obasa,asked the Clerk of the House,Mr Segun Abiru,to send a letter to the governor indicating that the nominees had been confirmed by the House.The report was taken after the House embarked on a general screening of the House during which the nominees were simply asked to introduce themselves and explain how they were screened by the committees last week.On the Lagos State official website,pictures of Governor Ambode's condolence visit to late Lekki Free Trade Zone boss Tajudeen Disu was posted.View the pictures below.
