 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail. IN HIS SPEECH TODAY,BUHARI EXPLAINED WHY THE SUBMISSION OF THE MINISTERIAL LIST WAS DELAY.

            During the nationwide  broadcast today thursday to mark Nigerian 55th independence anniversary,he said he was aware of anxiety and heat generated in Nigeria and abroad by the delay in appointing his ministers.He said ''Fellow Nigerians,there has been a lot of anxiety and impatience over the apparent delay in the announcement of ministers.There is no cause to be anxious.Our government set out to do things methodically and properly.We received the handing over notes from the outgoing goverment only four days before taking over.Consequently,the Joda Transition Committee submitted its report on the reorganization of federal government structure after studying the handover notes.It would have been haphazard to announce ministers when the government had not finalized the ministries to optimally carry the burden of governance.Order is more vital than speed.Careful and deliberate decisions after consultations get far better results.And better results for our country is what the APC government for change is all about''.
