 ‘I’ll turn off the mic’ — Remi Tinubu reins in Adeleke’s singing at Ooni’s anniversary First Lady Oluremi Tinubu cautioned Ademola Adeleke, the Osun state governor, for prolonged singing during his remarks at the 10th coronation anniversary celebration of Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife. The moment, captured in a now-viral video, occurred as the governor mounted the podium on Sunday to pay tribute to the monarch and to congratulate the Remi on her newly bestowed chieftaincy title, Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile Oodua. Rather than proceed immediately with his formal message, Adeleke, popularly known as the “Dancing Governor” for his spirited public appearances, burst into a short musical chant, drawing laughter from parts of the audience.                      Today thursday ex-Governor Amaechi was screened for a ministerial post that is not yet known to the public.The Minority Leader,Godwill Akpabio,first told the Senate that the PDP caucus would not ask him any question since the report of the Senate Committee on Ethics,Privileges and Public Petitions had been debated by the Senate.But the Majority Leader,Ali Ndume,suggested that Mr.Amaechi should take a bow and go,saying one of his duties as Senate leader was to market the ministerial nominees.How ever,the Senate President Bukola Saraki,ensured he was asked questions,leaving the moment for All Progessives Congress,APC,senators alone.While fielding questions from the senators,Mr.Amaechi said he disliked corruption,adding that he was not indicted in the whole report of the Judicial Commission of the Inquiry of River State.Amaechi said ''There is nowhere in the report of the Judicial committe,not {even} the whit paper by the governor,that i am indicted for corruption''.Speaking on the APC victory in the last presidential election,Amaechi said the party was able to sell to Nigerians that there was massive corruption in the previous government.''So we let Nigerians know that the only solution was to change government,and then,we presented a signpost candidate who is incorruptible''.On Niger Delta problems,he assured that the East West Road would be his top priority if he is appointed minister for the region.When Amaechi was told t clear his name of corruption dealings,he said ''I have never collected a bribe in my life.If we keep to the rule of law,allow a Governor to function as a governor''.One more picture below.
