 Man brutalises his pregnant wife in Anambra  In another case of domestic violence, a pregnant woman was brutally beaten by her husband in Ichi, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State. The mother of three identified as Chinelo Francis, from Ebonyi State, said trouble began when she requested money from her husband, Peter, to prepare food.  According to the young woman, she had already bought vegetable with the profit she made from her shop. Peter, also from Ebonyi, claimed he didn’t make money that day and took the children home.  He returned to her shop at around 8:00 PM and insisted she close up and come home with him.  She refused, explaining that the time was when she typically made most of her sales.  Later, she closed up her shop, went home at 9:30 PM, prepared the children for bed, and retired. NIGERIAN CUSTOMS,SEIZED 112 CARTONS OF FROZEN CHICKEN IN KATSINA.

                       Over 112 cartons of contaminated poultry products {Frozen chicken}seized by the Nigerian Customs Service {NCS},which was smuggled into the country through Katsina border.Briefing journalists today wednesday in the Katsina,the Area Controller,Kaduna/Katsina Command,Alhaji Gidado Bala,said that the smugglers were intercepted at Dankama in Kaita Local Government Area.Bala said that the smugglers on sighting the customs patrol team abandoned their goods and took to their heels.He said that the frozen poultry products were discovered to be unsuitable for human consumption when examined.Bala said that the Federal Government banned importation of poultry products in order to protect the health of its citizens and to encourage animal husbandry and poultry farming in the country.The controller,therefore advised smugglers to desist from such illegal business or face arrest and prosecution.The seized items were handed over to the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control {NAFDAC} for destruction.The NAFDAC Coodinator,Ahaji Habibu Garo,said that they would continue to collaborate with customs and other security agencies to curtail smuggling of dangerous products into the country.One more photo below.
