 The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO), yesterday, sealed off some buildings/properties across the state over different environmental infractions. They are; * A property on 34, Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island for deliberate discharge of raw sewage into the public drain causing offensive odour and sewage flowing in the community, constituting public nuisance, environmental pollution and endangering human life. * A block of Shops along Powerline Road, Meiran, Alimosho, for the illegal construction and operation of unsanitary toilet facility on a road setback without a permit, constituting public nuisance, environmental pollution and endangering human life. * A three-storey building at 38, Adeniji Adele Street, Lagos Island for deliberate discharge of raw sewage into the public drain. * A building at H29, House of Jesus Street, Langbasa, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, for the deliberate discharge of raw sewage into the public drains. ONE OF SOUTH AFRICAN UNIVERSITY ''WITS'',TO STAY CLOSED AS THE PROTEST CONTINUES TOMORROW.

                       The University of the Witwaterand in Johannesburg said today sunday that it will remain closed tomorrow  as student protests are set to continue despite a pledge by South African President Jacob Zuma that university fees will not be hiked next year.Protests against tuition increases started at the university,known as ''Wits'',almost two weeks ago and spread to other campuses nationwide.A spokeswoman for Wits confirmed that the university would remain shut.The school'd Senate will meet tomorrow monday to decide when to resume classes.The university said in a statement that ''Our students have decided to continue with their protest.We are disappointed at their decision,as we feel that it will put in jeopardy the academic futures of many students who will not be able to pass or graduate.This will only further entrench and deepen the inequalities in our society''.One more photo below.
