 Guinea-Bissau stops vaccine study funded by Trump administration Guinea-Bissau's foreign minister has said his government has stopped a study funded by the Trump administration aiming to evaluate side effects of the life-saving hepatitis B vaccine, including any links to autism. The West African country, one of the region's poorest, has high rates of hepatitis B, and the prospective study had drawn an outcry from scientists and international health bodies because only half the newborns in the trial would get the vaccine at birth. World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus said it was not ethical. Guinea-Bissau last month suspended the trial pending an ethical review. Critics had said it was being used to test theories linking vaccines to autism, long promoted by U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr but contradicted by scientific evidence. OSCAR PISTORIUS,TO BE FREED FROM PRISON NEXT WEEK.

                   According to BBC,Olympic an Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius,who was sentenced to five years in prison in 2014 after being found guilty of culpable homicide,or manslaughter will be freed from prison to house arrest next week tuesday.He shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp through a locked bathroom door but said he thought she was an intruder on valentines day.The prosecution has appealed,saying he should instead be convicted of murder.His case is expected to be heard on 3 November next month.He has spent 12 months in jail and now he will spend the rest of his sentence under what is term in  South Africa  as ''Correction Supervision''.An earlier decision to release him in August was blocked by South Africa's Justice Minister Michael Masutha,who said it had been made Prematurely.One more photo below.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
