 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. PROF.MAHMOOD YAKUBU,CONFIRMED AS THE NEW INEC CHAIRMAN BY THE SENATE.

                                                  According to sources,the Senate has confirmed the appointment of Professor Mahmood Yakubu as INEC {Independent National Electoral Commission} chairman and successor of Professor Attahiru Jega after he was screened in the upper chambers.Yakubu who answered all questions posed at him,stated that he would not be intimidated in the discharge of his activities as INEC Chairman.He was aked if he can withstabd any pressure,intimidation to announce the winner of the election even if it does not favour the Federal Government who appointed him,he replied that ''He would serve Nigeria and will do so without fear''.Other people that were confirmed and who are members of INEC are Adedeji Solomon Shoyobi {Commissioner},Dr Muhammed Mustapha Lekki {Commissioner},Hajia Amina Zakari {Commissioner},Dr Anthonia Taiye Okosi {Commissioner} and Alhaji Baba Shettima Arfo {Commissioner}.One more photo below.
