“We Don’t Want Violent Politics In Kaduna,” Group Tells Political Parties, Urges Them to Call Supporters To Order The Kaduna Peace Ambassadors Forum has called on political parties in Kaduna State to caution their supporters and prevent further violence following recent clashes involving members of major political parties in the state. The group said Kaduna had enjoyed relative peace for a long period and should not return to an era of violent politics. In a statement, the forum expressed concern that political disagreements and clashes in the past had sometimes escalated into religious conflicts, with consequences for communities across the state. It therefore called on security agencies to take appropriate measures to identify and hold accountable those responsible for the recent clashes, while strengthening preventive measures to avoid a recurrence. It was reported today sunday that the governor of Cross River state Ben Ayade has suspended the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education Mrs Anne Odey for banning devotion in schools in the state.Mrs Anne Odey had written last week to all private and public schools at primary and secondary levels across the state,suspending morning and afternoon devotions.The directive was said to have emanated from the Commissioner for police in view of security challenges facing the nation.But the security Adviser to Ayade,Jude Ngaji told reporters in Calabar yesterday saturday that the Governor was not aware of such directive.He added that the Permanent Secretary didn't pass such directive through the governor.One more photo below.
