 Kwara Police Arrest Singer Portable for Alleged Criminal Defamation The Kwara State Police Command has arrested popular singer Habeeb Okikilola Badmus, widely known as Portable, following a petition filed by his senior colleague, Okunola Saheed, aka Osupa. In a statement issued on Sunday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, revealed that the petition accuses Portable of serious offenses, including criminal defamation, threat to life, incitement, character assassination, conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, and the use of abusive and insulting language. The statement read, “Given the gravity of these allegations and the supporting evidence, the Command obtained an arrest warrant from a Magistrate Court in Ilorin. On Saturday, April 13, 2025, operatives executed the warrant in Abeokuta, Ogun State, apprehending the suspect at approximately 19:25 hrs.” Portable was immediately brought to Ilorin for further investigation. A WOMAN SOLD HER THREE YEAR OLD GRANDSON TO A RITUALIST FOR N100,000 IN ABIA STATE.

               According to the Nigerian Police Command in Abia state,who confirmed yesterday tuesday that a woman allegedly sold her three year old grandson to a ritualist.The Command's apokesman,DSP Udeviotu Onyeke told pressmen that the woman was in the custody of the police in Umuobiakwa,as investigation continues.He said that part of the investigation being carried out was to determine the sanity of the woman.The woman,who hailed from Onitsha Ngwa in Obingwa Local Government of the state,had left the village with the child and returned a week later to report that he was missing. Sources in the village said  that when the suspect was questioned about the missing boy,her response trigered suspicion,thereby prompting the villagers to invite the police.The suspect allegedly told the police that she sold the boy for N100,000 to a native doctor in Akwa Ibom and wanted to use the money to buy a motorcycle before the end of the year.The police spokesman however said that the woman had since changed her statement claiming that the boy was with her sister in Aba.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
