 PRESS RELEASE FCT POLICE RESCUE SUSPECT FROM JUNGLE JUSTICE OVER ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION OF 5 YEAR OLD CHILD. …CP FCT Condemns such acts as it delays the course of justice The FCT Police Command, on the 4th of October 2026 at approximately 02:46PM, received a distress call reporting that an unidentified adult male was being assaulted by an angry mob over an alleged attempt to abduct a child. Following receipt of the report, police operatives from Kuje Division were immediately dispatched to the scene, where one Bashir Usman was rescued from an irate mob that was about to lynch him. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect was being assaulted by the mob over allegations that he attempted to abduct a five year old child in front of her residence in Angwan Lado, Kuje Area Council of the FCT. ELDER ORUBEBE,ARRAIGNED TODAY BY THE CCT FOR FALSE DECLARATION OF ASSETS & BRIBE.

               Today monday Elder Godsday Orubebe was arraigned by the Code of Conduct Tribunak {CCT} on a four count charge of false declaration of assets and acceptance of about N70 Million bribe.Orubebe who was a former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs,entered the courtroom few minutes to  11:am and he was ordered to enter the dock by the Chairman of the tribunal Justice Danladi Umar.The court said Orubebe while serving as a minister on or about June 29,2011 did make a false declaration in his declaration form.Then around September 19,2012 asked  for and accepted the sum of fifty million naira from one Pastor {Dr} Jonathan,as bribe for the contract  awarded in favour of his company,Chemtronics Nigeria Limited.Then aroundd  twenty thirteen still as a minister,he asked for and accepted the sum of twenty million naira from one Pastor {Dr} Jonathan Alota as additional bribe for the contract awarded in favour of his company Chemtronics Nigeria Limited ffor the aquisition Centre at Edo state for the sum of one billion naira eighty eight kobo {N1,799,914,251.88k}Orubebe pleaded not guilty to all the charges brought against him.The case was adjourned to 26th November 2015 for hearing.
