The Government categorically refutes claims of lopsidedness and emphasizes its unwavering commitment to the principles of fairness, equity, and national unity. All appointments are made in strict adherence to federal character principle, as enshrined in Section 14 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as Altered). THE DEADLINE FOR THE FINE IMPOSED ON MTN BY THE NIGERIAN AUTHORITIES,HAVE BEEN EXTENDED.

                     Today the Nigerian authorities said that the payment deadline has been extended while it looks into MTN's pleas for leniency .Shares in MTN have dropped by about 20 percent since the fine was first announced on October  the twenty six.MTN is seeking to have the fine reduced and has been in discussions with high ranking Nigerian officials.MTN has had the payment deadline for $5.two billion fine imposed on it for failing to disconnect unregistered SIM cards,has been extened  but the fine imposed on it still stands.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
