NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT. Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination. A reinforcement team from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision. The General Manager,Motor Vehicclee Administration Agency {MVAA},Mr Lateef Lawal,who disclosed this today monday at the Agency's Headquarters in Ikeja and he noted that ''It has come to the notice of the State Government that some vehicle owners in the state aree driving with fake drivers licence''.He therefore advised drivers and vehicle owners to ensure they obtain their genuine license from the MVAA,adding that anyone who applied and has completed the processing of their driver's licence should visit the station where it was processed for immediate collection of their permanent driver's licence. For me,i don't think majority of danfo drivers,keke,motorcyclist have drivers license because if they do,i wonder who certified them because they are the worst drivers in the world.One more photo below.
