 Germany and Austria to tap oil reserves after 400 million barrels requested  Germany and Austria announced they are releasing portions of their oil reserves in response to an International Energy Agency request for member nations to collectively release 400 million barrels to help ease rising energy prices linked to the Iran conflict. Japan also said it will begin releasing part of its reserves starting Monday. The move marks one of the largest coordinated releases of emergency oil stocks in history. The previous record came in 2022, when IEA members released 182.7 million barrels following the energy disruptions caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Member countries currently hold over 1.2 billion barrels of public emergency oil stocks, along with an additional 600 million barrels of industry stocks maintained under government requirements. 11 INMATES WERE FREED TODAY BY LAGOS STATE CHIEF JUDGE.

                                           Today wednesday,it was reported that 11 inmates of Ikoyi prisons Lagos,have been released by the Lagos State Chief Judge,Justice Oluwafunmilayo Atilade,to celebrate the new year with their families.Justice Atilade granted freedom to 10 awaiting trial inmates today wednesday,while one was released yesterday tuesday from prison.The Chief Judge said the gesture was not just aimed at decongesting the prison but also to ensure that deserving inmates are made to breath fresh air of freedom.Justice Atilade disclosed that the High Court of Lagos State has introduced a new initiative named ''Bail Information Management System {BIMS} to facilitate speedy trials and dispensation of cases and ensure a drastic reduction in the number of awaiting trials.She described the new initiative as ''A ground breaking innovative stride to improve administration of criminal justice in Lagos state and to minimize delays in the prosecution of persons awaiting trials,particularly those in prison custody''.Justice Atilade admonished the freed inmates to ''Go and sin no more'' and be of good behaviour and make positive impacts in the society.One more photo below.
