 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

246 STUDENTS,AWARDED SCHOLARSHIP BY THE UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN.

                        According to the University of Ilorin Bullein issued today wednesday,it states that the Senate of the University has awarded scholarships to 246 students during the 2014/2015 academic session and the gesture was in recognition of the students brilliant academic performances at their various levels across all faculties of the university.The bulletin stated the breakdown of the awards in which 12 students from the Faculty of Agriculture,32 students from the Faculty of Arts,14 from the Faculty of Basic Medical Science and six from the Faculty of Clinical Science.16 from the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences,37 from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.Gurther breakdown showed that one student from the faculty of Environmental Sciences,13 students from the Faculty of Law,16 from the Faculty of Life Sciences,12 from the Faculty of Management Sciences and six from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences,among others.The bulletin state that the Vice-Chancellor,Prof.Abdul-Ganiyu Ambali,noted that the scholarship award was ''Basically to reward hard work and to serve as morale booster for the recipients while it will further motivate and encourage other students to strive hard to attain that great height''.He further commended the University scholars and advised other students to attach seriousness to their studies for them to be recipients of the award in the 2015/2016 academic session.One more photo below.                                                                                                      UNILORIN awards scholarship to 246 students
